Fort Snelling is expecting a very important guest Thursday. The great-great granddaughter of Dred Scott, who is being recognized in several events this week.

In the mid-1800's Scott went from being a slave in St. Louis to Fort Snelling. He was with an army officer who owned him. He was technically free at that time, since Minnesota was a free state.
